Our mission is to be the premier West Coast Asian Business Conference, by building on Berkeley's tradition of intense engagement with business, academic and political leadership throughout Asia. Today's attendees are, and will be, tomorrow's business leaders.
Together with our guests, we will create a stimulating forum
for current and future business leaders to meet and exchange
ideas on current topics & opportunities in Asian business.
Join us on March 1st, 2003 as we explore the multitude of issues and opportunities involved available for businesses involved in Asia.

It all started in the spring of 2001 ... The inaugural Haas
Asia Business Conference started as the second in the Haas
International Business Conference series. The first conference
held in March 2000 entitled "Who Controls the
Capital Markets?" focused on the capital markets
of Europe, as seen through the prisms of the currency crisis
of the 1990's. Speakers included the Haas School's own Professor
Janet Yellen, former Economic Advisor to President Clinton,
and Dr. Laura D'Andrea Tyson, former Dean of the Haas School
and former Chair of the Council of Economic Advisors to the
President.

Last year, we were honored to feature Dr. FC Tseng, Deputy
CEO of TSMC, and Mr. Masaki Yoshikawa, President of Pacific
Division, NTT DoCoMo USA as keynote speakers. In addition
to keynotes, specialized panel discussions captured the latest
thinking on current subjects and the Clausen Business Leader
Exchange offered a fascinating discussion with the 2001 conference
keynote speaker, Mr. John S. Wadsworth, Jr., Advisory Director,
Morgan Stanley & Honorary Chairman, Morgan Stanley Asia,
as well as Mr. Lip-Bu Tan, Chairman & Founder, Walden
International, and Dr. Hong Chen, CEO & Founder, GRIC
Communications.
