The purpose of this panel is to allow concerned individuals an opportunity to get an understanding of the short and long term issues pertaining to the tsunami disaster. These issues include:

  • The current situation and progress of rescue efforts
  • The social, political, and economic implications of the tsunami
  • What resources are needed and what challenges will need to be overcome in order to ensure the proper long-term redevelopment of impacted areas
