ALEX ANGELUS
Alex Angelus teaches Supply Chain Management at Haas School of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations Management from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and has written a number of industry and academic articles on operations and supply chain problems. Alex also has more than ten years of consulting experience in operations and supply chain management. He has consulted for a variety of companies in the U.S. and abroad, including Dow Chemical, PG&E, Monsanto, Union Pacific, Duke Energy, Raychem, Monsanto, Canadian Pacific Railway, and NiSource.
DANIEL ALLISON
Mr. Allison has worked in several areas of logistics for 33 years. He
has experienced a number of challenging opportunities with Frito
Lay, Sealed Air Corporation, Esprit, Mervyn's, and now Gymboree.
Mr. Allison received his undergraduate degree from San Jose State
in Behavioral Studies in 1982. He initially concentrated
on material management at the manufacturing level for Frito Lay
and Sealed Air, but since 1995 has been working in all aspects
of retail supply chain management.
He is currently the Vice President of Logistics for The Gymboree
Corporation, headquartered in San Francisco. The Gymboree
Corporation is an international family of specialty retail brands
that provide unique, high-quality children's apparel. As
VP of Logistics his team is directly responsible for the movement
of product from 24 international origins through domestic distribution
to over 640 retail stores in the U.S. and Canada.
BRIAN FUKUMOTO
Brian
Fukumoto is senior director of Product Operations for Palm’s Global
Operations, which comprises all global outsourced original design
manufacturers (ODM), as well as distribution / fulfillment centers,
strategic sourcing, demand planning, carrier operations, reverse
logistics, and repair. He is responsible for product operations
management, operations engineering, NPI materials and product data
management.
Prior to joining Palm in July 2005, Fukumoto served as director of program management at Tasman Networks, a leading provider of multiservice wide area network (WAN) access and aggregation platforms, and recently acquired by Nortel Networks. While there, his key focus areas centered on strengthening NPI processes and driving cross-functional product teams.
Prior to Tasman Networks, Fukumoto held a variety of management positions at Solectron Corporation over a 13 year period in the areas of strategic planning, business transformation, global account management, program management and engineering. He led Solectron’s post-merger integration teams that were responsible for integrating several multi-billion dollar acquisitions involving 25 sites and over 35,000 employees.
Before joining Solectron, Fukumoto began his high-tech career at Inmac, a computer supply and accessories manufacturer/distributor that was later acquired by Micro Warehouse.
Fukumoto holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering
from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master of Business
Administration degree from Santa Clara University. He has
served as director and treasurer of the Cal Engineering Alumni
Society and is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
SIMON TUNMORE
Mr. Tunmore has 18 years experience in finance, information technology, consulting & operations. Currently, he is responsible for all Customer Supply Chain activities at Micron Technologies, a $6B semiconductor manufacturer based out of Boise, Idaho.
Before joining Micron in 2005, Mr. Tunmore spent 7 years working for Adexa, a Supply Chain Management software company, where he was responsible for business process consulting and software implementations at large semiconductor & high tech companies in Asia, Europe and N. America.
Prior to Adexa, Mr. Tunmore spent 7 years at Intel Corporation in various operational planning roles including demand management, customer service, materials and supply planning.
LAURA A. SMOLIAR
Dr. Laura Smoliar’s Silicon Valley career has traversed the data storage, laser display, and laser industries, working both in large corporate environments and small start-ups. She has lived and worked in Taiwan and Germany, and she has extensive partnering experience in Japan and Europe. Laura has a track record of delivering technology and products that meet the rigorous demands of the computer hardware, display, and semiconductor sectors. Laura has an A.B. Summa Cum Laude from Columbia University and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, where she worked with Yuan T. Lee (Nobel Laureate, Chemistry, 1986).
