about us

Our Mission

The mission of the Berkeley MBA Asia Business Conference is to be the premier business school Asian Business Conference, by building on UC Berkeley's tradition of collaborative engagement with business, academic and political leadership in the US and Asia.  Today's attendees are, and will be, tomorrow's business leaders.

Together with our guests, we will create a stimulating forum for these current and future business leaders to meet and exchange ideas on topics & opportunities in Asian business, year after year.

Join us on March 15th, 2008 as we explore this year's theme: Global Ambition, Regional Transformation.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Our History

In the spring of 2001, the inaugural Berkeley MBA Asia Business Conference started as the second conference in the Haas International Business Conference series. The first conference was held in March 2000 and was entitled "Who Controls the Capital Markets?"  It focused on the capital markets of Europe, as seen through the prisms of the currency crisis of the 1990s. Speakers included the Haas School's own Professor Janet Yellen, former Economic Advisor to President Clinton, and Dr. Laura D'Andrea Tyson, former Dean of the Haas School and former Chair of the Council of Economic Advisors to the President.

Building on these roots, the Berkeley MBA Asia Business Conference strives to gather industry leaders to create a collective dialogue about the hottest topics in Asian business.  This year we're excited to carry forward the same mission through our theme, Global Ambition, Regional Transformation
