Finance Panel
Asia at a Crossroads - From Outsourcing to Technology Investment and Innovation

The panel will explore the following questions:

  • Is this different from Japanese outbound investment experience during 1980s and East Asian central banks purchase of US Treasuries?
  • Will this fit the long term goals of its people, considering arguments made by Krugman’s widely quoted ‘Myth of Asian Miracle’?
  • Does Asia have sufficient institutional structures and market mechanisms to support the growth of liquidity in Asian capital markets?
