Welcome to the 2009 Berkeley MBA Asia Business Conference
Conference Date: February 28, 2009
Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley
Asia at Crossroads
Exploring emerging transformations in Asia
Asia is the rising star of the world economy in the 21st century.
For decades the two economic giants – China and India – have led the
pack to outpace growth of developed economies. However, with the deepening
of U.S. financial turmoil, it is clear that Asia cannot be decoupled
from the U.S. economy. Two urgent questions in the minds of those
in Asia are: externally, how to achieve independence and internally,
how to upgrade their industrial sectors away from labor-intensive
and environmentally damaging business models.
The Berkeley MBA Asia Business Conference 2009 will bring together experts from key industries to discuss these trends and how they will affect the business decisions of tomorrow. Topics intended to stimulate ideas and debate include: What is happening with Asian industrial reform? What is it’s impact on the global economy? And, with the changes underway in Asia, is this a chance to capitalize on opportunities once again?
With the uncertainty in today’s global economy, the conference will take a deep look at Asia, which has played a central role in the global economy in recent years, and provide a forum to share insights and shed light on prospects for the future.
The Berkeley MBA Asia Business Conference is an annual, one-day event hosted by the Asia Business Conference Club in collaboration with
